I just wanted to share a bit of feedback regarding the three-part Songbook workshop that our daughter attended with Brian Walters recently.  Our daughter had the absolute most wonderful experience with Brian!  She loved the small group atmosphere and felt that she learned so much from Brian, in such a short period of time.  Our daughter also mentioned that it was very beneficial to observe her fellow students and was able to appreciate and learn from their strengths.  She said that Brian always finds a way to accentuate something positive in a student and for our daughter, this gesture improved her overall confidence and worth.  Our daughter was also able to walk away with audition songs, suited to her ability, which is so crucial to her continued development.

As a parent, I really appreciate that this was an affordable option that allowed my daughter to still have such an amazing experience and learn from someone as accomplished and talented as Brian.  my daughter is so passionate about theater and especially loves St. Joe’s.  Her father and I have NO experience in theater arts, so this workshop was a great opportunity to expose her to skills and knowledge that can enhance her potential, while having a great time!

So again, thank you so much for this special offering and we look forward to another in the future!

Just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone involved in the summer program. My daughter was in the two week performance camp and had such a wonderful time. It was her first time and she loved it. My husband and I were amazed at the production that was put on at the end of not even two weeks. What a talented bunch of kids and young adults. Not to mention the talented people behind the scenes guiding them to bring out their best. Just wanted to thank you all for all your hard work and endless patience.

I wanted to take a moment to express our family’s gratitude to the staff and John Asselta. Our daughter absolutely loved the weeks she spent with BTW this summer. My husband and I watched our daughter grow incredibly in just two weeks! She came home smiling and singing every day, made some new friends, enjoyed leading-edge experiences and absorbed more than I can tell you in this note. Magical? Our daughter would say it was magical - especially wearing a wireless mike for the first time. Her words on the last day of camp were: “Mom, why can’t this camp just be my school?” This BTW Junior Theater Camp experience has meant so much to our family and for that we feel so thankful.

Our daughter has taken performance classes elsewhere, but nowhere with the level of quality - and fun - as with BTW. She had nothing but wonderful experiences there, most notably a huge confidence boost and friends she still keeps in touch with. As she moves on to other opportunities, we believe that BTW strongly contributed to her performance abilities and sincerely thank you for all you have helped her achieve.

My girls are talking a lot about the summer camp program and are having a good time. I would love to be a fly on the wall for three reasons: 1) the program sounds fun, 2) it’s an interesting group, and 3) I’m a teacher and the activities sound like great language play for all kids—not just actors!

I also like the fact that ice breakers were done on the first day, and the kids are paired up with kids they don’t know. If my kids didn’t already know other kids attending, they may have been intimidated. (They panicked on the first day because they are new to theater.) Those types of things bring a group together. Thanks.
